Internalsheating surfaceSynthesis Gas Cooler

ASME compliant pressure part calculations for the heating surface systems of a synthesis gas cooler completed.

After LES GmbH had dimensioned all the pressure parts of the almost 20 ton membrane walls and the associated connecting piping for a synthesis gas cooler destined for the USA last year, IBL produced on the basis of the manufacturing drawings for

  • 5 headers with nipple field and branches
  • 73 tubes
  • 5 branches
  • 23 pipe bends (fittings and bent pipes)
  • 2 reducers
  • 3 tees
  • 7 flat bottoms
  • 3 caps

the ASME I or ASME B31.1 compliant design calculations required to obtain a design appraisal, and determined the required or maximum allowable test pressures for factory and repeat pressure tests. IBL delivered the English-language calculation reports to the client on time at the end of January for forwarding to the Notified Body responsible for the preliminary verification of the calculations.
